Type Tuesday – Chris Ladwig
Today’s Type Tuesday features Chris Ladwig.

Where do you find inspiration? I find inspiration from almost anywhere. I do browse Dribbble, Behance and other design related sites, but often times I will try my best to not look at anything and create something that came either purely from my head or something inspired from external sources like music, nature or literature. It’s definitely tough sometimes, but like I said, “I try.”

Name a designer or artist you greatly admire or are most inspired by and why? I’m pretty late to the game with this guy, but I recently came across Jon Contino’s stuff. It’s been super inspirational to me when it comes to typography.

What defining moment stands out as a turning point or important decision in your design career? I am a recent graduate, so being hired full-time at Push is a huge turning point for my career. Also, seeing the work I did for Chillsner by Corkcicle show up on sites like Fancy, Uncrate, and Core77 has been pretty awesome.

Do you have any interesting rituals that are part of your process? Not really. It seems to be different every time I start a project, but maybe that will change as the years progress.

Check out his portfolio on Behance.

Each Tuesday we’ll feature a designer who loves type or a type that designers love. If you would like to be featured in Type Tuesday, send your portfolio or website link and a short bio to socialmedia@orlando.aiga.org.
