With the support of AIGA Orlando,The Society of Typographic Aficionados (SOTA) brings us it's most highly anticipated TypeCon workshop series, Tickling Beziers. This 2-Day workshop will take place in Full Sail University's Digital Arts and Design Art Studio and will be lead by Positype type designer and hand lettering artist Neil Summerour.
The workshop focuses on how to balance traditional analog techniques with the flexibility of digital workflow:
On Day 1, you will explore brush, marker, pencil and pen lettering techniques. Under the guidance and instruction of Neil, you will learn about the lettering process and how to trust your hand to make refinements to your work.
Day 2 you will dive head first into your favorite vector/font design application to transform your analog lettering from Day 1 into a refined vector file. You will also be taught best practices, efficient techniques along with do's and don'ts of digitizing lettering. Emphasis is placed on the process and technique of proper point to point digitization and bezier usage to produce smooth, flawless lines. Auto-trace is prohibited!
