Celebrating and fostering women’s achievements in design.
Women today outnumber men in AIGA’s membership—as in design schools and disciplines—yet leadership, representation, and parity remain a challenge.
The AIGA Women Lead Initiative (WLI) is committed to empowering women in design and advancing the discussion on issues facing professional women today without generalizing or segregating women designers. The aim is to address persistent biases and inequities inclusively and constructively through programming around three goals:
- Celebrate the achievements of women in design.
- Cultivate awareness of gender-related issues, while building knowledge and leadership skills.
- Connect by facilitating relationships within and beyond the design industry.
So what does that mean for our Orlando chapter? Join us March 16th, to be involved in shaping what this Initiative looks like in our city. Both men and women are welcome! Together we'll brainstorm events and meet-ups that with celebrate, cultivate and connect our community on gender issues, and develop action plans and milestones for making those things happen.
Our Orlando community is only as strong as those of us invested in it. So lets do this thing!
WHEN: Wednesday, March 16 @ 6:30pm
WHERE: Imperial Wine Bar & Beer Garden, 1800 N Orange Ave, Orlando, FL 32801
