Beyond the Creative Process

As a designer, creating is often the easy part; we enjoy making great work for ourselves and our clients. But what about the operational, business aspects of being a designer? That is the part we find unpleasant and downright complicated.

How do you legally protect yourself and your work?
How do you keep accurate accounting and pay the right taxes?
How do you plan your finances wisely to assure you'll be stable in times of both "feast and famine"?
How have other designers successfully done it for themselves?

We've enlisted four local experts whose knowledge and experience can shed light on these unnerving subjects.

Our guests for the evening are:

  • Ava K. Doppelt, Esq., Board Certified Intellectual Property Lawyer with ADDMG
  • Mercedes Infante, EA., Manager of Emerging Business Services at Cross, Fernandez & Riley, LLP
  • Kevin Barry, CPWA, CIMA, CFP, Wealth Advisor at Morgan Stanley
  • Jeff Matz, Founding Partner of Lure Design
